Does my motherboard support overclocking???
any help would be much appreciated

Yes you would have NO PROBLEM, I overclocked both my GPU and CPU (X4 860k and a GTX 750) with a lot of headroom. Don't listen to others who think you'll need 750 watt's its a scam. My pc only uses around 350w under MAX load

A scam? Quick to judge aren't we?

Too many people assume that you need 800 Watts to overclock safely. But it turns out that its just a way for power supply companies to make more money. Yes you are fine with overclocking.

So you assumed I was going to say that? I was going to say 650 watts is where I feel comfortable. Still a scam to you though isn't it?

hello
I have one final question as you know I hve a XFX Core Pro 550Watt power supply
how can I know if it contious or peak 550 WAtts? :(
my windows crashed today :( wonder if it has something to do with the psu
i didn't upgrade or overclock any hardware yet :(

OP's rig would overclock and run well with 300 W PSU provided it's high enough quality.

99% of people have no idea what electricity is in a PC, and it's sad because far too many are dragging down efficiency, something they often paid extra for.

At above poster which I downvoted, I did so to get rid of misinformation, not because I don't agree with your opinion, no hard feelings.

All the best!

It's tough to say. You'll need to tinker with it to see if you can reproduce and isolate the problem.
