Can't figure out how to make the GPU the default over the motherboards integrated graphics

My home built PC won’t give me a DVI signal from the GPU, only a VGA signal from the motherboard. The GPU is installed into the first PCI port along with two 6 pin power hookups. The fans spin briefly during the startup but stop before windows boots so the power is there. Also, the bios recognize the card so I don’t think hardware is the problem. I ran the drivers for the motherboard, the GPU drivers that came in the box as well as the latest Nvidia drivers.

My I.T. friend says there’s probably an option in the bios to change the primary display from integrated to the GPU but find it I can’t for the life of me. Does anyone have any ideas?

SPECS:
Intel Core i5-6600
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 950 Windforce
Asus z170 Pro Gaming MB
Corsair CX600 - 600w PSU

---UPDATE---
Does anyone here think it could be caused by my power supply? It’s a Corsair CX600 – I did more research on it and it seems like it has a pretty bad rep and doesn’t put out the power that it advertises. This site rates it as a bronze, Tier 4 (bottom of the barrel) PSU. Could it be that my GTX 950 simply isn’t getting enough juice? Like just enough to spin the fans for a bit on boot up then stop?

Solution
Their nothing to change the board does it automatic with a video card installed.
Make sure your using the right DVI port on the card. If it's not working than you have anouther problem.
Card, motherboard, or CPU socket problem.

Make sure that you have any and all hdmi etc cables coming out of the graphics card not the mother board first off. Secondly, go into windows->devices and drivers->graphics cards or whatever its called-> disable, NOT DELETE whichever card it is you wish NOT to use. Everything should work after this :)

just respond if you have question of if I misunderstood please.

ps. if you disable the driver for the one you dont want to use and still nothing is showing up on your screen, it might be time to start considering that your gpu is not working correctly. Make sure to check cable again though, you could disable your driver here and the screen go black because your computer has switched to using your graphics card instead of integrated graphics.

pps. it really could be your psu isnt putting out as much power as it should so the card isn't able to function. Try above answer from me before thinking the worst though, good luck!
