Ok, I had 2 x 580 GPUS working in SLI on my Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD5-B3 mb then upgraded them to a single MSI Geforce 1080 Gaming X. I placed the 1080 in the first PCIe x16 slot but i could NOt get it to work - unrecognied in Device Manager. Then Frank here on TH suggest I try the PCIe x8 slot, that worked ! thank you again Frank. But Now i'm considering whether i'm losing performance because of the 8 bit slot ? how much performance loss ? and why won't my 16 bit slot work ? it use to work on my SLI 580s !
