Hi all. I have saved up some cash for upgrading my system.
My current spec:

i7 6700k @ 4.4 Ghz
16 gb DDR4 @ 2400Mhz
Gtx 780 paired with a Dell 23" 1080p monitor @ 60hz.

I am considering a gtx 1070 or a Dell 27" 1440p monitor @ 144hz.
My question is : Is a GTX 1070 overkill for my current monitor or should I first invest in a new screen before upgrading my graphics card later when I saved up some cash again? Will my Gtx 780 handle the new monitor?
Is there a huge difference in 60hz vs 144hz?

Thanks

CCL/CCP do pretty good monitors if you're conerned about price, monitor refresh rate in all honesty isn't a massive deal. In games like CS:GO a widescreen monitor will allow you to have a wider Field Of View. Wider FOV=Ability to see more stuff than a lot of people on standard monitors
Best of luck!
