Hey Guys,

I've been lurking around these forums quite alot when i had problems building PC's, but never had a question to which i didn't find an answer and never made an account until today.

This build is going to be an Office PC, running mostly Word+Powerpoint+Excel+Firefox/Chrome.
It's also supposed to do some picture editing.

Here's the link to the pcpartpicker: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/h9rGqk

I am building this PC for my dad who will switch from an old Lenovo Notebook.

He wants to have a slight performance upgrade, so i went for a SSD and a better CPU.

His Notebook had an Intel i3-370M CPU which scores alot worse than the Pentium G3258 in [CPUMark](https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp%5B%5D=2267&cmp%5B%5D=744).

I am wondering if there will be a difference in multi-tasking, because his old CPU had Hyperthreading. Maybe you guys know something about that?

I decided to go with the Pentium G3258, because it can be overclocked very easily (if necessary in the future, i don't plan to overclock it for now).

I'm also not really happy about the PSU, but couldn't find any cheaper/less than 350W PSU's.

Thanks in advance for your feedback/help!

Solution
Even though the wattage isn't necessary, I would spend the bit extra, on a better quality psu. XFX 430w isn't much more, and far better quality. The Pentium will perform far better, than that old i3. If you can in any way afford it, I would go with an i3.

Seems like the xfx 430w actually costs about the same as the corsair vs350W here in germany, so im definitely gonna get the xfx then.
Thanks for your suggestion!
Edit: Seems like the next cheapest i3 would be the i3 4130, it does cost ~35€ more though. I guess the big difference is that the i3 has hyperthreading.
Will it help alot when i, for example, have word+firefox+powerpoint and an email program running at the same time?

Alright. I'll have to think about it, because my budget is around 300€. So I'm currently leaning towards the pentium. Thanks for your help once again.
