Hi all,

Im new here and i have a problem getting my laptop back to life.

I have a fujitsu siemens amilo pi 3540. I put a new cpu in which was compatible. After installation i started the computer and everything works fine. The laptop recognizes the new cpu and installs drivers for it. It asks for restart and so i do. After restart everything still looks fine, so still happy me :p. But after the next restart everything keeps black. Now im in trouble...

This is what i tried:
cmos battery in and out
starting without cpu, ram, hdd
updating bios with usb and cd
trying old cpu

when starting there is sound of the fan but no beeps or anything else, the laptop just restarts every 30 seconds.
with a cd (containing the bios update) the laptop gives 2 short beeps..

can anyone help me out?

thank you so much!!!

try the RAM sticks one by one.. insert one and boot.. if it works, the RAM is good.. then place the other stick and boot.. if both works individually then the RAM sticks are good.. now try the other RAM socket.. if it works, both the RAM & sockets are good.. first try this out..

Hi illuminatuz,

I tried your solution.

With No Ram stick: same situation, no beeps, no screen.
With individual ram sticks in both sockets: same situation, no beeps, no screen.
With both ram sticks: same situation, no beeps, no screen.

:(

Can it have something have to do with the cmos battery being low?

Thanks again!
