So today I bought a Belkin N300 Wi-Fi USB Adapter to enable a desktop pc in a home to have internet without having to go through an actual ISP. The way I'm trying to do it is by using a USB Wi-Fi adapter to get internet to the computer from a mobile hotspot. The smart phone I'm using as the hotspot is a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 from Verizon, model NM920V. The hotspot works on my iPad, but does not appear as a source of internet from the USB adapter on the computer. What is the reason for the hotspot not giving the computer internet through the adapter and

Other useful information:
Computer is running Windows 10.
Smartphone OS is Android version 6.0.1
I do have hotspot service on the smartphone through Verizon, verified with my iPad.

If there's any other important information you need I apologize for not having it ready and will provide it when asked. Thank you in advance for any help!

Does the adapter see any networks at all. Most people can see a number of their neighbors networks.

You may want to check you have the latest drivers that support win10. All kinds of strange issues running older drivers with win10.

Still you should be able to see the network in the list.

Yeah, it sees my home router (charter wireless internet) when I test it, but not my phone's hotspot. I will check to see if there drivers to download for the adapter and update this post in the morning. Thank you for your reply.

UPDATE: Okay so I apologize for taking so long to update this, but I downloaded the drivers from the Belkin support website and when installed them the adapter seemed to stop working altogether. Here's a link to the page on the Belkin website: http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=4736

I'm honestly at a loss as to how to get the adapter back to working condition. When I plugged it in the first time Windows 10 found drivers for it and automatically installed them and it just worked. Then when I downloaded the Belkin drivers it stopped working. I'm not sure how to revert to the drivers that Windows 10 gave me either.
