Hello, I've collected some money and I think soon I'll be ready to upgrade my pc but I still don't know what to buy and since I live in Argentina its really messy, I currently have this setup:

Mobo: Asus A55BM-A
Cpu: AMD A 7700K
Gpu: GeForce GTX 750-ti
Ram: 1x4gb Fury Hyperx(o.c.@1866hz, 11,10,10,28) 1x8gb Fury Hyperx(same o.c.)
Psu: 500w generic
External SSHD/USB3: Games
HD: O.S.

I usually play on 768p, so the gpu is not a high priority but I play really CPU intensive games,
ArmA 3, PlanetSide 2, Lots of simulators, Space Engineers, Scrap Mechanic, and I'm planning on buying No Man's sky

I was looking onto the new Skylakes, and saw the I5-6600k, I need a new Motherboard too btw

In order to "complete" my setup I think I need a CPU, Motherboard, PSU and an SSD.
Thanks in advance!

I have about 6,000 ARS, about 400 USD

depending on your budget the amd fx-6300 isnt bad it a 6core @3.5ghz and turbos to 4.1 if you can squeeze out a little more money you can get the amd fx-8350 its an 8 core @4.0ghz and turbos to 4.2 just make sure you have a decent cpu cooler and i would also recommend a better motherboard for better overclocking potential and a name brand psu with 80+ rating would help if you plan on overclocking

First and foremost, an SSD is in no way neccesary and you will need to buy a HDD along with it if you can't reuse your current HDD (a 1tb ssd with obliterate your budget :)). Skylakes use the LGA 1151 socket, many people go with the HGA 1110 motherboard which is about £50 and provides good performance at a low cost (kinda the standard MOBO atm).
An i-7 will give you more than an i-5 if you wish to accomodate one. Also you'll need some DDR4 memory.
I'd reccomend a 500w-600w PSU (too late at night for me to calculate it for you :p) from Corsair, XFX, Coolermaster or another reputable brand (don't skimp on it as you'll regret it) with good headroom.

While that is true if he has the money moving to skylake will help alot with some of those games like ArmA 3, that game to be frank poorly optimized and runs better on intel due to using mostly 1 CPU stread. Also unless you plan to OC no point in getting a "K" processor.

Intel is better value. As Ikaz said the K series denotes that it is 'unlocked' and is overclockable, if you don't plan on doing it then you're essentially paying for a feature you won't use.

Thanks everyone for commenting and yes I do plan on overclocking, I actually have my A10 7700k overclocked 400hz above the 3.4ghz and my gpu about 250 and 300 on clock and memory. I can push my budget to about 500 or even 600 if I save up some more months. As far as I know an i5 will work for my current setup as my GPU is nowhere near an i7.

I plan on using 768p and 1080 for that OGSSAA.

I don't know if the HGA 1110 is a good mobo for overclocking though, I might get the Evo 212, but don't add that in the price of the parts...

One thing with overclocking is that it allowes the CPU to finish more cycles in a second, higher clock speed isn't everything as a CPU that completes many more instructions per cycle but is at a lower clockspeed with provide more power than the faster CPU that completes less instructions per cycle. Clockspeed isn't everything and overclocking is almost over-rated...

Sorry for bumping but I got some more money and I have about 820$ now, I plan on buying an i5-6600k, I don't know what motherboard, but I plan on overclocking, and 8gb of DDR4 (I might buy an Evo if the stock cooler is not good enough though)
The i5-6600k here its about 475$
The Msi Z170 A Pro Lga its about 170$
The 1x8 HyperX Savage are about 60$
An EVGA 600w 80 Plus Bronze is 130$
835$ in total, I can still sell my A-10 7700k with its mobo and the ram though, I'll keep that psu for home experiments :)
