Im in the work of building yet another gaming pc for another one of my friends, this time i am using pc part picker for a much more organized approach. Although with the full build done and ready to go everything being compatibal it shows a compatibility error stating "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs" I am using a Fx-8350 clocked @ 4.0ghz with a Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard. I am aware of some old bios software that was created before the new cpu generation (or something like that XD) so pc part picker is letting you know it is possible to get a old version of the bios on the following motherboard. Is this compatibale with my current cpu thats all i need to know, thank youf or all the support that i get and if you guys have any questions about pc's please feel free to ask me i can answer almost any question but this one has me stumped!

Better question why are you building a AMD based system at this point ? if you post your budget and what you plan to use the PC for I bet we could help with a better build. (note I'm running an old 8320 which works fine but it like almost 3yrs old and I wouldn't build a new PC based off a 8350).

I'm just old and cheap is why I went with an FX 8300. Really, I don't have anything too groundbreaking,
and moving from a 7 year old Athlon IIx4 to this is like Christmas to me..same with the solid state drive
I've never experienced such speed and I suppose I'm learning more as I go.
Eventually I will build an intel unit, but this current PC is about twice as fast as my old one
and I'm just surprised as hell it even booted up.
I'm ok with it, just stoked I didn't have to seek help to finish it. (I almost did)

Well personally, I think you have in fact done your build without any help at all. From your post, it seems you already knew the answer, or at very least suspected that you were probably correct. Your question, to me, was nothing more than reassurance that you were right. So I say Kudos on a job well done.

thanks for all the support once again, for those who are interested in why i like amd builds. I have been building gaming pc's for all my friends this summer so far working on the 2nd one and soon 3rd-4th and we all run on a budget and i like to have them use a amd cpu that i know works very very well and has long life span. I have used this cpu for over 2 or 3 years now, and yes games dont use all 8 cores but some of my friends also want to record there gameplay and render out a video so it works hand in hand. Its a cpu i can trust and know my friends will have a excellent gaming experience and maybe il start using intel but so far i have no reason to use intel cpu's. :)

well the 8320 + $10 = 8350 with just a extra .5ghz pre clocked into the cpu without needing manual overclocking so warranty is not voided in any way, i see it as a better bang for your buck and have noticed very good fps in games with this gpu and a Gtx 970 pair.

Well I agree, I just wasn't sure if you were building a PC for "scratch" if you were buying a new MB,CPU,Memory I would go skylake. I just popped in a 1070 in my rig (had CF 7870 LE's) and I can see the boost even on my 8230 (which I did OC to 4.0 a long time ago).
