Is the NZXT Phantom case still good?

So me and my brother have built our current pc build together and we both decide in a component together before buying it. We are in need of a new case since our current (Apevia x-plorer 2) is too small and cant support proper ventilation with all our components. We had the NZXT phantom (original) few years back and loved it however he believes that since it is faily old now, it is outdated and isnt as good as newer model cases. I disagree because it fits all of our needs (looks nice, plenty of space inside but not a completely massive case, isnt too expensive, and has lots of ventilation with a built in fan control). I would like all your opinions on the case to kind of convince him that it is a good case and still better than many out now (if that is truly the case)

I have the original phantom lying around! ;)
I agree with you wholeheartedly.
I bought it thinking it was the coolest thing ever, but later down the line it started to look kind of cheap and tacky, and was way too big for my liking.
It is still entirely usable, don't get me wrong, but there are MANY better options available on the market, and a new investment may be worth it if you don't have the size available to store the Phantom, and want a smaller solution with decent cooling.
Considering the situation you're in though, it is worth it to save the money and simply use the Phantom you have, as really it comes down to the components, not the case.
If you want to consider an investment into your PC, i'd go for component upgrades over case, as it is just a housing for the stuff which will actually give you performance, and judging by your post i'd say your components are a little on the aging side, although I used my GTX 680 until the 980ti came out!
The Phantom will give you more than enough ventilation, even though it may be on the larger and heavier side, it gets the job done. :)
Also, I just remembered that it has an inbuilt fan controller on the top, definitely worth keeping if its a matter of funds. :)

i was considering buying a used phantom case for like 60 USD, my brother however says that that case is outdated. so do you guys believe i should buy a newer model case then?
