Hyperx cloud II microphone not working

I'm unsure if it's a hardware or driver issue, has anyone ever had any problems with this headset?

The sound is great but the microphone just isn't working for some reason, no idea why or how to troubleshoot.

Sorry to do the basics, but gotta start somewhere...

Have you checked the Recording Device tab in your Sound settings? Make sure that 'Headset Microphone' is set to default.

If it is, are the little bars next to it lighting up green and therefore picking up sound?

And no the bars do not move at all. I also know it's not an issue with the PC because i've used another mic on this and it worked fine.

Ok, so the PC is picking it up and recognizing it fine, but the microphone itself is not transmitting any data.

Ensure the detachable mic is firmly secured into the headset - unplug and replug it back in a few times to be sure.

If you're still not getting any feedback from the green bars, I suggest quickly trying it in another system such as a laptop and see what the results are there.

Ok so get this, there's this little button on the side of the usb audio control box that turns off the mic... and it comes off my default

Who designed this dumb crap?

Anyway it's solved, thanks anyway.
