Specs:

CPU: Intel Q6700 2.66Ghz
MOBO: 4CoreDual-Sata2
GPU: Sapphire 260x
PSU: Lamtech ATX-700W

This is my old PC and since i upgraded my GPU in my other system i tried to put the 260x in this PC.

The problem is that it doesnt post and my GPU's fan is spinning after 3 minutes since i power it on.

My MOBO's PCIe slot is 1.0 x4 and i have updated the BIOS to the latest official version.

Also i have plugged the 6pin power connector to the card.

Thanks in advance

Late answer but i didn't read a reply that covered the source of this issue.

Your mobo doesnt support the GPU because it needs a PCIe 1.0 while the GPU is set at 3.0.

Furthermore the multiplier x4 only applies to AGP cards, the PCIe slot can be fitted with the x16 GPU but will not perform as well as if it was installed on a mobo with true PCIe support.

Reminder : this mobo (4coredual-sata2) was a step-in model for PCIe. At the time of production the x16 multiplier was not implemented as it was on future mobo's but instead was fitted with a PCIe slot at a rate of x4. In short : the PCIe slot in this mobo is actually a surrogate AGP slot at x4 multiplier although PCIe x16 GPU's will still run but not at peak performance.

Correction : The mobo supports AGP x8 which translate to PCIe x4. So your PCIe x16 will be running in x4 mode at max.
