newly built pc not working

this is my first PC build so bear with me... i think the PSU might be broken, because when plugged in nothing happens. i tried the paperclip test and still nothing. it also could be the motherboard, im not sure.

gigabyte b150m-dsh3 mobo
thermaltake 600w 80 plus pcu
thermaltake versa h22 special edition case

yes. could it be because i have 2 fans plugged into the PSU (3pin to molex) and then into the system fan header?

The reason I ask is because it's highly possible that something got unplugged. Believe me no one is immune from this.
