PCI-E and DIMM slot both work, just not at the same time

I'm building an unRAID NAS and everything has worked fine so far. Then I noticed only 4GB of my 8GB (2 x 4GB) of memory was being detected. I knew when I first assembled it yesterday I saw the BIOS say "8192" so I was a bit confused.

I started doing the usual stuff. One stick at a time, trying different slots, and I found a DIMM slot that seemed to not be working. I then tried to think about what I had done differently since seeing "8192" in the BIOS yesterday. All I could remember doing was adding in my PCI-E SAS card.

Sure enough, when I take it out, all DIMM slots work fine. I checked the manual for the motherboard and it makes no mention of this.

I've poked around the BIOS for the last couple hours but can't find anything that seems related. I tried changing the PCI-E slot to "EFI" from "Legacy" but it didn't solve anything.
Any ideas?
