Can I plug my mouse and keyboard into the Monitor with Display Port 1.2?

Hey guys

When I connect the mouse and keyboard into the computer directly, no problem.

I was under the impression that DP 1.2 could power and carry a mouse and keyboard signal. However when it is connected directly into the Monitor, neither or both do not work.

Is there a setting I need to toggle or drivers to download? I am using Windows 10.

LG UM95 monitor

Mouse: Logitech G Series
keyboard: Azio mechanical

Thanks guys :)

Depends on the monitor. Most monitors have only input ports, dp-hdmi-dvi. There are a few monitors with an output port where when you use a dp input, you can hijack it and use that signal for external connections like a keyboard or second monitor

The back of that monitor has only the 1 DP, and it's clearly labeled DP-IN. Won't work on the Thunderbolt connections even though they are I/O
