Hello everyone. I desperately need help. I just upgraded my computer today. Got a new cpu, motherboard, cooler, and ram. I upgraded from AMD to an Intel i7 6700k. My motherboard upgrade is a Gigabyte Z170-Gaming k3. I got a Hyper 212x cooler. And HyperX Fury 16Gb DDR4 Ram at 2400Mhz. I mounted all the hardware. Took me 4 hours. Got the motherboard on, cpu in. Thermal paste. Cooler. Ram. And then mounted my gpu back. Plugged in all the Sata cables. Pci-e cables. Cpu fan. Led's Cpu power cable. Usb cable. And motherboard power cable. After I plugged in my computer, and turned it on, it shut down after a few seconds. After that it was turning on by itself and shutting down repeatedly. (Im guessing self system check) and the screen was black didnt show anything. I was furious. I read some forums and some problems were that people didnt apply new thermal paste or didnt apply enough. After that I decided to reapply my thermal paste. It took me an hour to clean the paste off the cpu and heatsink. And took me an hour to get the 212 back on. I was tired and stressed. After that failed and the same thing happened. I though about it. I realized that when I turned on my computer, the lights that are supposed to flash when the hard drive is working werent flashing. I do not know if it could be that I plugged in the sata cables wrong. And I do not know if it could be the cause of this problem. Please help me and give me any suggestions you have. Im sorry that I wrote a whole essay but I wanted to explain my whole situation to get the most optical answers. Thank you. ☺

I plugged them all in but I didnt reapply thembecause I dont know where the right slot is I cant see the labels on the motherboard cause the sata thingy is sideways.

If your memory was a kit of 2 x 8Gb memory modules GranCracker.
Check in the motherboard manual if your motherboard has four memory slots.

What memory Dimm slots of the motherboard they must be placed in.

Gigabyte boards often state what set of memory dimms, and in what numbered order the first kit of memory sticks must be placed in, or the board will refuse to post properly due to not being able to read the memory modules.

Still no luck :(. I looked at the manual and put the first stick of ram into DDR4_1 which is the one to the very right. And the second stick into DDR4_2 which is second from the left. Dangit
