My Computer Doesn't pick up my voice, but picks up sound if i knock near on on my computer.

How to i get my Computer to pick up my voice. This is very confusing. I was in a Skype call and the person on the other side couldn't hear me so i knocked on my table in anger and he said he could hear the knock perfectly fine. I tired everything that i know and can't figure it out. PLEASE HELP

Dude I've had the same problem (kinda) I use a laptop and while in a skype call my friend couldn't hear me unless I put my mouth right in front of it and spoke loud. Solution: use a mic. What I did is I had a kunia tritton (I think that's how it's spelled) headset and I plugged the mic., speaker, and USB thing in it then plugged that cheap PS4 mic. that comes with a PS4 into it and then went to settings in Skype then I guess the audio...

Idk how to get it to work without using a mic. though.
