Too much hardware reserved RAM. (3.49 out of 8GB usable)

Is there a fix for this? The laptop I'm using is an MSI GX60 1AC. When i go into the bios, it says that I have 2 sticks of 4 GB. I have tried using msconfig and that hasn't worked. I have tried switching the 2 ram sticks and that hasn't worked either.

Yes, it used to show all 8. I haven't done a virus scan though. But last night I factory reset the computer and I still have the same problem, so I don't think it's a virus.

I've reseated them before but haven't cleaned the contacts. I will try it and share the results when I can.

I just cleaned the connectors on the ram and the ram still shows as 3.49 out of 8 usable. I have tried to access the bios, but the uefi bios I have don't show many options and didn't allow me to turn on ram reallocation.
