This is my pc:
Power supply:Antec hcg-520
Mobo: intel dp67bg - atx intel p67(b3)
cpu: intel core i5 2500k, 3.30ghz, lga1155 6mb cache
ram corsair 8gb (2x4) ddr3-1600
evga geforce gtx 550 ti

I'm plannning to buy a new geforce, something like a Nvidia Geforce GTX970 STRIX 4 Go DDR5.I'm not a high end gamer but i still want to play recent game
But i was wondering if changing my cpu was a good idea (upgrading to i7 3770 lga 1155) or it wil be better to get all new and recent mobo/cpu?

Solution
It's not worth upgrading the CPU/Mobo/RAM just spend big on a new GPU like a GTX 1070 and you will be laughing. If you want to upgrade then the best you can do right now is a 6600k or 6700k, upgrading to a 3770 without being able to overclock imo isn't worth doing. Just get a nice cooler for the 2500k and overclock it past 4.5ghz.

you can keep your i5-2500k, just need to overclock it a little bit and there won't be any bottleneck on your system even if you use the recent GTX 1080 from Nvidia. My i5-2500K is running 4GHz on stock cooler.

I don't know how comfortable it would be to try to overclock on that motherboard. Plus, with Kaby Lake being announced and going with a 1151 socket, a new motherboard will last longer and have more upgrade potential than sticking with the 1155 where the only upgrade is 3770. Plus Skylake has 0 bottlenecks without overclocking.

it's very easy to overclock using i5-2500k on that Mobo, you just need to increase the multiplier to 40. That's it and you're done. Of course it will be better if you change Mobo and CPU, but the question is, he wanted to buy a new GPU and asking whether upgrade to 3770 is worth it. The answer is no, whether you change your Mobo and CPU will not give you a high impact on your new GPU. That's for sure :).

Edit:
you don't need to buy GTX970, wait for GTX 1060 3GB or RX480 4GB, they both will give you best performance on budget :)
