Ok. I've spent today turning my computer on an off, attempting to fix my master boot record, run virus scans, and try to diagnose my problem- but for some reason, I'm coming up short. My problem is that: Whenever i power on my desktop (Specs Below) it either: gets stuck on the motherboard splash page; or freezes on the login window. Now on the one or two time's I was able to access my computer, I tried a variety of attacks to combat these errors.

Update: I'm currently commencing a System restore, I will update again if that fixes the issue.

1. I restarted into troubleshoot/recovery mode and used advanced options to reset my master boot record. I used:
bootrec.exe
bootrec.exe /FixMbr

2. I ran a variety of anti virus programs such as:
-Malwarebytes
-Hitman Pro
-Malwarebytes anti rootkit
-TDSSkiller.
(all came up empty)

After restarting, neither of these options worked. And I was greeted with a screen saying "trying to diagnose your problem," following that was "Attempting to fix" and then finally another restart, which left me back where I had started.

So now I turn to you, Toms hardware community.

Here are the specs of my computer. I should probably also say that I lost my OS disk (like the genius I am). Feel free to message me or respond with any questions.

You don't have to remove CMOS just clear it back to default. refer to your MB manual.
It may also be a good idea to update your Bios if not already done.

@Paul_NZ I removed the battery, but not the CMOS jumper. I am currently en route of restoring my computer. I heard about a virus that was inserted into programs such as audacity that overwrites your mbr, but have had no success locating it.

I was thinking about that. That also affected classicshell 4.3.0

But with the trojan it also brought up a message. When you tried to boot into windows

I'm not too sure if that would affect the BIOS / splash screen tho. Since it's not actually part of the hdd, which is was hit

Hi Gokuva1987 :) This can be one of many things and a frustrating trouble shoot for you.

As this is a pre-built system then your first port off call would be the system builder. You have 3 years Warranty and Lifetime tech support.
You could try clearing your CMOS incase drivers not loaded correctly.
Also a lack of Keyboard is not helpful.
Was your OS system pre-loaded or did you do it yourself.?

It came with a disk, which I later lost.

And taking a judgement call- I don't trust myself removing my CMOS. I am at the BIOS screen, is there anything else I can do?

Ok thats good what did you remove that was USB?? May have been something it was trying to read?? Disable the logo in the BIOS. Just in case it does it again

And if it happens again you'll see what it's hanging on. The post screen can hang if it's having probs reading something like a hdd. If the hdd is the prob, that hdd maybe failing

Try this.. if you've got a spare desktop connect this hdd to it make sure the hdd thats in it now, is the bootdisk. We'll see if it hangs.

If it does, the hdd maybe the prob. Whats the brand/model of the hdd thats in this??

Seagate hdds were known to have firmware issues., And in some case, the bios couldnt detect it. Until you updated its firmware

It is now stuck on a blue windows logo. What should I do?

I recommend you get a new Installation disk as that would provide better alternatives for system repair.
