I'm currently running a GTX 660 LE card in my system which I put in to upgrade from a GTX 560. I was wondering if I could put the 560 into the same computer to do the PhysX while the 660 does the rest of the graphical processing while gaming?

Solution
Using different generations of cards together should be fine and is a common way of being able to use additional screens beyond the maximum of a single card without having to buy an expensive duplicate. The benefits for PhysX in the majority of games will be limited due to the dwindling support or requirement for it but in games that do support it then it will offer some extra bells and whistles.
I`m not exactly sure, but you used to be able too via the Nvidia driver and software suite.

Choose between if a Gpu did the graphics and any Physix calculations.

Or you could dedicate the Gpu to deal with graphics, and off load Physix tasks to the cpu of the system.

I dare say there is a high chance that you can select another model range of Nvidia card or Gpu in the same system to deal with Physix game calculations the 560 card.

And set the GTX 660 LE card to do the graphics.

Put the GTX 560 card in and see if it works.

It may not of course because like SLI mode the cards may have to be of the same family and model numbers in relation to the GPU on each card to be able to select one card to do the graphics, and the other just to do raw Physix calculations

But give it a try any way by all means.

I just put in the GTX 560 after cleaning out my system, and it works so far, but I'll see how it goes after a week of it in my system. I also set the 560 to handle the PhysX, and I'll test it over the next week and see how it runs.
