About 3 and a half years ago, I built my computer.  The components are:

CPU: i7 3770k
Mobo: Asrock z77 extreme4
Memory: 32gb G.SKILL Ares DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (4x8gb)
SSD: Samsung 256gb 830 series
Video: EVGA GTX670 4gb
PSU: Corsair 650hx

Everything was running smoothly until it recently stopped booting.  I would hit the power button, the fans would spin, but nothing else would happen.  I opened it up, and the Dr Debug code on the motherboard was 00.  I reset the CMOS, and was able to boot into the UEFI, where I noticed it was only seeing 2 of my 4 RAM sticks.  From there I could boot into Windows (7 pro, 64 bit) without issue.  After that, everything seemed to be working normally, except it could only see 2 sticks of RAM.

I then pulled the RAM, and started testing them by booting up with only a single stick in slot A1.  Each stick worked without any problems. I then tried every permutation of filled and empty RAM slots, and it seems that A2 and B2 work fine, but A1 only works if A2 is empty, and B1 only works if B2 is empty. Does this mean that I need a new motherboard if I want to use all my memory? Is there maybe something I'm missing? Everything worked fine for years until this happened.
