How do I connect the Xbox one s controller to my pc?

I might get the new Xbox one s controller for my pc but I was wondering how I connect it? Do I need to get a Bluetooth USB adapter or the Xbox wireless adapter they used for the previous Xbox controller?

Thanks! I am currently using a 360 controller and I was looking for an upgrade. I could also go for the original Xbox one controller with cables for Windows for 10 dollars less than just the new controller. Which should I go for?

I would say it is normal. If it is bothering you a lot you can ask to try a new one and see if it does the same. But it is probably just from the bluetooth radio.

If you have bluetooth on your PC it will work through that also have to be on windows 10, if not you have to buy the xbox one wireless adapter or connect it via cable.

I just got it and like it better than the older one, the textured back is nice. Also not having the adapter take up a USB slot is a big improvement.

I just got one and if I have it on but not connected it makes a quite dog whistle sound. How about yours?

Yeah it does but I can only hear it when it is right next to my ear
