Ok. I've hit sort of a brickwall.

I recently decided to upgrade to an SSD(256 GB). I clean installed windows 10 on this new disk.

The old one was a WD 1Tb hard drive. It has windows 8 installed on it. I bought a Hard drive caddy for optical Bay and fit the old one there by removing the Dvd drive.

The problem is I can use either of these drives to boot from boot options menu.

But when booted from say, the windows 10 on SSD, the hard disk won't show in disk management or Windows.

Similarly if I boot from Windows 8 hard drive, SSD won't show up.

Could anyone please help? I need my pc for study purposes it's very urgent.

Thanks for reply mate.
They both appear in boot options menu.
I can even boot from either of those into Windows 10(ssd) or Windows 8(hdd).
But once windows starts from one drive, other drive is nowhere to be found in file explorer, disk management etc. Really worried

It's an hp laptop. But both drives are not showing simultaneously anywhere in the laptop except when I press <escape> upon powering on and selecting boot devices to load windows from either of the drives.

Hey mate it's an HP G6 2202tx pavilion laptop.
I just found something weird. When I boot from Windows 10, hard drive won't show up anywhere, not in disk management, device manager or anywhere.
But when I boot from hard drive the ssd does show up in device manager with an exclamation mark. Although other than that it's also not discovered in disk management.
