I have a Gigabyte z170MX Gaming 5 motherboard.
After waking from sleep all my USB3.0 ports are running at USB2.0 speeds (confirmed using USBDeview from nirsoft), the 2 yellow USB2.0 ports at the rear are still working and the single (red) USB3.1 port at the rear is still working and AT full speed and does not seem to be affected by this issue.
From a clean boot all USB ports are working as expected at their correct speeds.
I'm using the following devices to test the USB speeds (using USBDeview from nirsoft):
- Transcend (TS-RDF5) USB3 SD card reader (with 64GB Sandisk Xtreme Pro)
- 2x TOURO 1TB USB3 external drives.
- 32GB USB3 Sandisk Ulta 32GB
Things I have tried:
- I dont have any conflicts in the device manager
- I have reset my motherboards CMOS
- I have removed an older PCIe tv tuner card (as possible conflict)
- I removed my twin USB3 front panel from the internal headers on the motherboard
Still the same result ..... USB3 ports running at USB2 speeds after waking from sleep.
One thing to note is my Transcend (TS-RDF5) USB3 SD card reader does not get recognized (after waking from sleep) in any USB3 port, but works in the USB2 ports (front and back) and works at full speed in the single USB3.1 port at the rear.
Any ideas of what do try/do next to fix this issue.
