I've bought the Asus M51AC- CA004S a couple years ago and it has the H87M-PRO motherboard. I'm running bios version 0901 and Asus has an update to 1002 https://www.asus.com/in/support/Download/14/11/11/1/LO0tmBl6lN3auCfn/45/ . But i'm actually pretty confused as to if I would download that or this http://www.asus.com/ca-en/support/Download/1/45/1/3/GSvsSUl0grAhmEd7/41/ for the motherboard

also unsure as to what the difference would be between doing either one or if I would have any problems flashing the bios.

Solution
Since your asking here then you really don't need to do that.
If your not having problems with the motherboard then don't update the BIOS.
A bad flash can brick the board.

The reason I was asking was mainly because i've tried everything so far that I could think of to fix a problem i'm having with my graphics card. Every time I ran Furmark or Unigine Heaven the drivers stop responding and crash. I get white boxes all over the screen or other Artifacting. I did a factory reset on my computer , reinstalled latest drivers and it still happened. I've put the graphics card in a friends build and it ran perfectly fine.

Yes , ran same tests on both computers , ran furmark on friends build for 5 minutes and it had no issues. Was running at 70 degrees. Ran it on my computer and it starts having driver crashes about 20 seconds in.

Only difference was that he had put my graphics card on his PCI-e x16 2.0 slot while in my computer it's in the PCI-e x16 3.0 slot. I'm not sure if that would cause an issue or not ?

The BIOS on the board is not going to stop your driver from crashing.

I have an EVGA Supernova 850 b2. it should be enough to supply power.

Yeah , I just kinda figured since it ran on my friends build fine that there may have been a problem with my motherboard somehow not supporting the GPU properly

Open MSI afterburner and increase the power to 105% don't increase the temperature range just the power.

increased the power limit and the crash still happened. Flashing pink and white boxes all over the screen and audio looping then it shut down and restarted.

My gut is telling me its a power issue.....shame its not exactly easy to swap psu's out though.....unless your friend doesn't mind helping out with the process of elimination.

Ok , this has been potentially fixed for now. I took out the graphics card and let it sit for a couple hours while trying to search online for anything related to the issue i'm having. I also moved my ram sticks 1 slot over just so everything isn't as cramped together. When I went to put the graphics card back in and then went to plug in the 8 pin connector. The front end of the graphics card that goes into the PCI-e slot lifted up and it came to me that the card may have actually not been seated in correctly the entire time. My case is quite small and the screws don't quite line up correctly with where the graphics card is seated and the plate to screw it in. Some of my HDMI ports are covered up by the case but otherwise I got it in fine. Ran Unigine Heaven and it actually worked without any artifacting generally my card would have crashed before by the time I had reached scene 5 but everything ran smoothly and without any trouble.

Thanks to everyone though for the suggestions and help. Also thanks Zerk for suggesting not to upgrade my BIOS , because unfortunately I probably would have ended up doing that and potentially bricking my system and be out of a computer for 2-3 months until I buy new components. I'll probably end up buying a full-tower case and hope no further issues happen.
