7950 vs R9 280 (non X)

Hi guys

Looking to upgrade from my GTX 570 to AMD's Tahiti arch. Just wondering, for a £30/$50 difference, is it worth getting a something like a Dual X Fan 280 over a Gigabyte 7950? And will I be able to High/Ultra most games with my current specs?

The R9 280 is a rebadged 7950, with a slight overclock. There is no other difference between the 2 cards. For the price difference, I would say it isn't worth the extra for almost the same performance.


As for performance, you will likely get medium/high settings, depending on the game and resolution. The GPU will still be the limiting factor as your CPU is still very strong.
