Hello!

I'm gonna do a clean install of Windows on my new SSD.
I have some files on my HDD that i still want though. I was wondering if it's possible to install windows on the ssd, choose the ssd as boot and then move files from my hdd to the ssd afterwards.

After I've moved the files from my hdd to the ssd I'm gonna format the hdd, then I will transfer the files back from the ssd to the hdd.
Is this possible? Or will it cause problems since windows exist on both drives?
I know this problem could be solved by using an external hard drive, but I'm wondering if it's possible this way.

I've read some discussions but can't find a direct answer.
Thanks for any input.

To answer this part, this is totally OK since only one version of Windows will be running. It's literally like having a directory named Windows on a flash drive - does that cause problems?

No, I'm gonna reinstall programs. I've got about 200 gb of files, like some videos and so on. It would be so much less of a hazzle to move them from the HDD then to locate them all over the web once more.

Allright, thanks for the answer. It's big enough, no problem.
But would I have to delete windows from the HDD at one time? Or could I boot from the SSD while windows is also on the HDD?
