My hard Drive (not ssd) works too much

Hi

I installed Windows 10 not long time ago and it seems that since then (I actually don't remember how it was before), my hard drive works too much and is slowing down my computer. After some reading on the net, I disabled 2 services: superfetch and windows search but that didn't really change anything.

I have 8gb RAM and 15GB pagefile. When looking at the task manager the hard drive is on 100% for a long time but the CPU is at most below 10%. The memory is around 7-7.5 though Firefox is usually the highest one with 2-2.5GB so I don't really know why the consumption is so high but closing and re-opening Firefox doesn't make any difference.

Any idea what can be the problem?
Thanks!

Thank you for replying. Ofcourse I'm considering SSD but I don't want to buy one just to realize that something else is to blame, I don't remember my hard drive works so much with Windows 7 that I had before.

Let's clean up startup tasks to free up disk read/write time.

Please press Control+Shift+Escape to open Task Manager, click on the Startup tab. Disable all programs that don't need to be running at all times. Drivers should be left alone. If anything says AMD, Radeon, Graphics, Nvidia, GeForce, Sound, Audio, (other proprietary device), then leave it enabled. Once you're done in the Startup tab, restart the machine.

Disabling a startup object does not stop its respective program from working, it just prevents it from starting in the background as soon as Windows starts and then continuing to run in the background until stopped manually or the computer is shut down. Running programs and processes are consuming memory, some of the CPU's clock, and likely some of the hard drive's read/write time. Basically, the less programs running, the less stress on the drive.

It was already cleaned up :) , there is only AVG and UPS monitoring in there.
The working hard symptoms is not when the computer starts but when I work on it.
Because the cpu is low, it doesn't seem like a certain app is causing this but something else and I wonder how can I find out what it is
