I have a PC that can not record via software, so i thought i could throw hardware at the problem, so i would use a VGA splitter, and then a VGA to component adapter then from there to Easycap, then to a separate machine. Would this work? Did anyone try this?
Thanks in advance!

Solution
I personally have no experience with the Roxio, however the system would have to process the data coming in from the capture card.

Well I tried everything, from FRAPS, to Bandicam, to Dxtory, and all of them have significant impact on performance.
It´s a Core 2 Duo machine, with 5 gigs of ram 2 hard drives (one main and second one for recording), and an ancient 9400 GT.
And, since I am such a minimalist, I don't care much about the graphics as long as the gameplay is smooth. Now for recording, i KNOW the card is a weak spot.
Now, I can not invest in a newer GPU, if i could i'd get a used 750Ti or an HD7770 and just call it a day, but i was thinking if i could somehow 'sniff' the VGA signal directly with another machine or something. I know there are capture cards, but with their pricetag, again, i'd go for a bigger GPU.

I've been looking online more, and the quality seems, OKAY, i found this kid he did almost the same thing except for his console.

So, should I take a plunge, or think of my next card?

Thanks!

Alright then, well, if I were to buy a Roxio Game Capture Pro, it needs an HDMI output, the thing is i only have a VGA monitor, so I saw some store here have an HDMI to VGA adaptor.
My card does have HDMI output so I was thinking, HDMI from card to the gamecap card, then on the other side of the card the adaptor, then get the VGA cable to the screen.

How much CPU usage would i see if i used the Roxio on the same machine?
Or would it affect performance at all?

Thanks!
