Recently my laptops hard disk space has been sucking away before my eyes.
I've cleared temporary files, have always had system restore turned off and windows updates, and ran some anti-virus/malware scans.
If I restart the computer I get about 5 gigs free space (which is about right), then every time I refresh "Computer" it will lose several Mb's of space by the second. It eventually hits 0 free space, and then about 20 minutes later it shoots back up to 350mb free space and then fluctuates up or down from that point forward.
I assume due to how erratic it is, that it's likely malware? Yet Avast, Spybot, and Malwarebytes haven't detected any issues.
