So recently I reinstalled my windows 7 x64 onto my new SSD about 3 weeks ago. Everything is great until i started gaming on it and found out that the crossfire isnt really crossfiring. i noticed really crappy performance on all my games.
my rig is fx-8350 stock, 8gb 1866 cl10 hyper x fury, 2 x msi r7850 OC 1gb. and a 500gb samsung ssd.
so crimson says that crossfire is enabled and what not, it says both cards are linked and are running. gpuz says the same. msi afterburner says the cards are running in crossfire. BUT the thing is that when i game the second card doesnt run at the same speed as the first card.
I had set my cards at an overclock and thought maybe it was the overclock, but no, even at default speeds the second card refuses to run at over 300mhz. my video cards run at 300mhz at idle, which i find weird. I disabled ULPS in afterburner and it doesnt help. the second card still runs at 300 mhz while the main card runs at 900mhz. the only time both cards run at the same speed is during the stress test in GPU-Z. but during every other game i play the first card runs at 900mhz and the second at 300mhz. why?
why has this happened i didnt have this problem with my old hard drive. probably because i had catalyst on that one and upgraded to crimson. but i had never reinstalled windows on that drive until i got my new ssd.
also, why doesnt crimson let me adjust the power efficiency settings on my cards?
