Is GTX 1070 What I Want/Need? (yea another redundant thread)

Okay. I am sure everyone sees more than enough of these threads. I ask all responses be useful and hopefully this is solved quickly. I need to know if I am making a wise decision. It has been a good while since I really researched GPUs and other components. I am a big fan of EVGA as I have never had an issue but here is what I am looking at:

Gigabyte 1070

I built my machine over 4 years ago. It still runs great. Here is what I have:

  CM HAF X
  Rosewill 750w Gold
  AsRock P67 E4 G3
  i5 2500k CM 212+ EVO
  Corsair Vengeance 16GB
  Crucial M4 128GB SSD
  EVGA GTX 560 ti <---- here is my problem
  Win7 Ultimate

Am I making a good decision? Would you recommend different? My goal is to not only play No Man's Sky but have a card that should work for a few years.

Hmm. Your processor also could use updating but meh. A 1070 would obviously be one of the best cards you could get but that cpu could hold it back. No man's sky apparently is very over hyped and ya may wanna wait until it's on sale haha.

Personally I'd go for a mid-high level cpu and gpu pairing as opposed to a very very good gpu and a low level cpu.

I think you've made the exact right choice based on your needs and your current build.
