Hello Guys ...!!!
I want to buy a new gaming processor for my computer and I wanted your help to select the best one.

My Specs Are:--
MOBO: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4N68T-M-LE-V2 (AM3)
PROCESSOR: AMD Athlon II X2 240
RAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (G-Skill)
GRAPHICS CARD: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (ASUStek Computer Inc)

Now seeing the specs you might say that I cannot even run "Assassin's Creed: Unity" but by surprise I even played GTA V on my PC with medium to high graphics. But my concern is for the future and for the present as I am still not have been able to play FIFA 15 on my PC.

So guys please help me buy a new processor. I don't have much choice as my budget is a bit strict, but I will try to increase it a little to the needs. Please suggest me some good processors under the range of Rs.15000- Rs.20000 (including the MOBO) almost $200- $300.

On my earlier threads, guys helped me alot. They suggested me some great processors like-
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($166.95 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($69.89 @ OutletPC)

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($229.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($95.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $325.98

But it has been a year since that thread (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2710132/buy-core.html) and I haven't bought it yet due to the confusion.
Please guys it would be a great help if you would suggest me some Intel Processors because I have been using AMD processor for quite some time and it is no good at all for a gaming rig.

Since there are the new 6th generation Intel core i5 processors, I would like to know if that would be a great deal to buy or not.

THANKS IN ADVANCE AND I HOPE YOU WILL HELP ME...!!!! THANK YOU

Solution
Skylake.
Its not worth going for an outdated platform purely because you want to save 1500 INR.
You will get a 10% performance increase, and temps will be lower due to the smaller TDP.
Agreed, no point investing in Haswell at this point when buying new.
The 6600k is actually cheaper by $15 believe it or not.
You forgot to include RAM and a cooler in your pricing by the way! :)

Yes, that's a point, but is there anything just a little bit cheaper than this processor because I also need to buy a mobo with it....as you can see my motherboard is an amd one and not an intel one

You didn't make your budget very clear in the post. If you have a budget issue, consider a i5 6500+B150, it's about the same price as 4460+h97 but gets you ~15% performance improvement

If the 6500+b150 is more than ~$20 more than the 4460+h97, stick to haswell, it's still good enough

Thanks for the advice but I have a RAM from G-skill which will do fine for now, but I need a mobo as well and a core i5 processor under a $300...so will it be okay if I don't buy the CPU cooler

1) You MUST buy a cooler if you get a K version, since it doesn't come with a stock one and you can't use the AMD one
2) Never use DDR3 with skylake, you're asking for trouble

Yeah it will fit very well in my budget... Thank you....but should I go for this mobo instead

And is the i5 6500 a 6tth gen cause I couldn't find the info about it....Oh and now when I compared both of them the 6500 and the 6600k ...I found the 6600k to be much less cheaper then the previous rate!!
Which is better I guess, to buy a 6600k instead..!!

My budget is $300 (+$10 or $20) and I don't want to overclock cause I had problems with it earlier... So I want to buy a processor and a motherboard in or under $300.

Oh no.... I can't change my RAM .... I just bought it a year ago. Is there an alternative to using a DDR3 RAM and using a Skylake processor.??

You CANNOT use DDR3 with a skylake board, or you will burn out the memory controller over time.
This costs $345, although you can bring it to $310 if you use the stock cooler.

That's a waste of money, the 6600K is for overclocking but your motherboard CANNOT overclock. Stick to the 6500 or 6600 (not K)

What if I go with the previous gen processor and not the Skylake one??? Will then it be okay to use a DDR3 RAM..???

Yep, there is no point in buying an overclockable cpu when I dont want to overclock it. So should I go with the skylake as well or lower it down??

Haswell and earlier can use DDR3, just make sure it's 1.5V and not 1.65V memory.

As for skylake vs haswell, up to you, but in general they should cost about the same, and that means you might as well get the skylake version

There are a few questions you have to ask yourself when deciding on components to buy. To me, the most important is:
Do you plan on overclocking?
If not, that drops cost down a good bit. No need for a Z board, no need for liquid cooling, and no need for higher speed ram.

Almost any newer i5 will be enough for games for the next couple of years, but for me, I built an i7-4770, non k, with a new GTX 1070. I spent most money on the card knowing the 4770 would not only handle todays games, but also future games.
This is a second gaming machine, not my primary. I have a 5930k with SLI 1070 for my main rig. My point is, the newest Gen is always great, but seriously, the gain in performance is minimal with the newest Gen compared to 4th Gen. With a tight budget, I'd look back to the trusted and hardy 4th Gen and build yourself a very good machine and say to heck with an okay machine of the newest Gen. Cost vs gain vs performance.

Okay thank you very much for the answer... So it would be good to go for a 5th gen instead of skylake (6th gen)....???
And even if I go for Skylake will my RAM be able to withstand it or not???

Pretty much, go for a 4th gen if you want to save money, although the savings will be minimal, and Skylake offers a 10% performance increase. Here are your options.
Remember
Skylake (Recommended)

Look At This Link:
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-6600-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4460

I had in mind the 4690 and the 4460 processors because they were good. And when I compared those I found that there is not much difference between the two.

I did not bring up mobile processors because the discussion did not involve them. I try to stay on point instead clouding the water with unrelated subjects.

Again, it comes down to what you need and then want. Preference will of course play a role in your decisions. Do your research, take all of our opinions with a grain of salt, weight the pro's and con's. When it comes right down to the nitty gritty, it's your money, your investment and your choice.
