Slow speed with USB 3.0 4 bay HDD dock

I've started using an Orico 4 bay hdd dock for external hdds as they were getting uncomfortably hot in their own enclosures and each requiring a power supply uses up a lot of power sockets.

But the speed I'm getting are quite unusual. Via USB 3 moving data on to or off a drive in the dock to an internal drive get anywhere from 60-140 mb/s which is fine, but between drives in the dock it slows way down to 5-20 mb/s...which is almost unusable for large data transfers and it's the same for programs using the drives, they only get a few mb/s including crystal disk mark and HDDTune. The same drive in their enclosure all work properly and with a sata to usb 3 adapter.

I am of course using a USB 3 port on the motherboard with a usb 3 cable. I've tried all sorts to fix this but come up empty and would appreciate any and all assistance.

I look at the spec, i doubt it is a true USAP device. It seems like it built around a SATA II PM then convert to USB3.0. The transfer in this depent on PM protocol - if it's a command based PM. then UASP or not wont make any different

According to CrystalDiskInfo the interface is UASP.
