I have two western digital hard drives. the 1 tb black suddenly disappeared the other day and showed up as RAW 0 bytes available 0 bytes used. So basically I've tried a few things...
What I eventually tried was swapping my HDD's arround so plugging the 1TB where the 2TB was... Now the one that wasn't working is working fine but the other stopped. So it's at this point when I thought great must be a faulty port or sata cable, easy. Well I was wrong. I've tried swapping them back around but the 2TB Green WD that was originally working now won't work at all. Says its RAW and has 0 bytes. I can't use it. I am currently salvaging the data that is stored on there using easeUS data recovery. But what I want to know is, is my hard drive failing or is it the ports on the MB or is it a PSU issue? any advice or help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the community, @Marco!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Green and WD Black drives! I'd strongly recommend you backup as much of the data as you can, and keep in mind that using third-party recovery tools is risky when we are not sure about whether or not the drives are corrupted. I'd suggest you check how the RAW one appears when you plug it to another computer. It's also highly recommended to use WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics to check up on the health and SMART status of both HDDs. Just make sure you run both the QUICK and the EXTENDED tests. (after you have completed the backup of the data from both drives, though)

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!

Thanks for getting back to me.

I did run the WD diagnostics but it came back saying everything was fine. Since then I have place my hard drive into another PC and it was still in RAW format. I am currently backing up my drive and hopefully will be able to save all my priceless information. It's a lesson learnt to make sure I backup my files more frequently.

Thanks
