Hey all, sop Ive encountered a problem with my disc usage. It may be a failing hdd idk, but basically it wont drop from 90% and I cant find the culprit http://imgur.com/a/3Hbp2 Im not really doing anything idk what to do. any help is appreciated
Hey there again & Sorry for the late reply, @Reckoner_!
I'd second what @skit75 suggested and advise you to reinstall the Microsoft Office from the Control Panel (Uninstall the program). Afterwards, you could also try running the sfc /scannow command from the CMD. It will scan the integrity of the protected system files and replace the corrupted versions. Checking for malware and doing a virus scan is also a great idea, indeed.
Left click the Windows icon in bottom left.
Left click "Settings"
Left click "System"
Left click "Notifications & actions"
Move the slider to Off for "Show me tips about Windows"
I'd recommend you start by disabling some Windows Services that might be causing the spikes in the HDD usage. press Windows+R > write services.msc
Disable 1-Super fetch
2-Windows Search
3-Background Intelligent Transfer Service
If it doesn't improve the HDD usage, run some anit-virus/malware scans on your system. Afterwards, try swapping the SATA cable connecting your WD Black to the motherboard.
Keep us posted with the troubleshooting!

http://imgur.com/a/Kvqvz so i get these disk spikes now, idk what this Hxtsr.exe is? Is it normal? It has my disk spiking when I play games, I dont really notice performance issues but just curious what it is already ran a virus scan
No one here knows what this Hxtsr.exe is? I've got a ton of them running and I cant end the proccesses and its making my disk spike constantly. I scanned with malware bytes and found nothing
Best I get from that is a problematic Office\Outlook file. Many anti-malware and antivirus programs are blocking or quarantining it. Doesn't mean you're infected but have you tried re-installing Office?
