Need Answer to Complete Build - Quick Wiring Question regarding Audio ground wire..

I purchased a SPDIF(RCA & TOSLINK) + 8 Channel Audio bracket, which I will be connecting to a sound card. There are 3x 3.5mm phono type jacks, which are all Line-Outs, simply 1,2& 3.

According to Documentation from MFG, pinouts and tech support, there should be a total of 7 conductors/wires, for the 8 Chanel Audio. When I peeled back the sheathing on the cable to prepare for a new connector and pin reconfiguration, there are only 6 wires. From process of elimination, The cable seems to be missing the ground wire.

First off, cut back more sheathing to make sure, no wires were cut short, etc.

My question, is this. Can I create/borrow a single pin connection to ground from another header or source? Do I need to? How can I fix this?

Thank you!

Cheers,
Rich.
