Hey guys, in need of a little help. I built a computer for myself a few months ago and everything about is perfect. Now my friend wants me to build him one in the 1000-1200 dollar range.
Had something like this in mind.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor ($213.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($132.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($67.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($89.39 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($47.49 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: XFX Radeon R9 390X 8GB Double Dissipation Video Card ($269.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case ($64.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($75.98 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($88.91 @ OutletPC)
Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF120 Red 52.2 CFM 120mm Fan ($12.88 @ OutletPC)
Total: $1064.59

Not finalized yet but something like that. If there's anything I can change to enhance the performance by changing a few things Id love to know. Id love to hear some other peoples opinions as I am not an expert by any means. Thanks guys.

Please consider a more efficient power supply.

The RX480 is a great hit for the price, and it dominates in DirectX 12 games.

Here is what I have for him. :)
I'll post another build below if he wants to save some cash, although I highly recommend kicking out that $20 more for this build.

The i5 6600 would be the last part in the entire system to show it's age, and by the time it's not performing up to standards, the i7 6700k will be old and Intel would have released several more generations of cpus.

Despite being a Bronze psu, that EVGA B2 is GREAT.

Chugalug_ you are not including windows in your builds.

You seem to be missing an OS from the build. Pretty sure the OP is going to need one seeing as one was included in the original list.

It's a little bit more but the 1070 is worth it over a 390x. (edited forgot an SSD)

If they aren't planning on overclocking we can go with a different mobo and cpu and save enough for an SSD.
