I have this laptop Acer TravelMate that keeps randomly shutting down. So I was thinking about the memory maybe its faulty making it to shutdown.
So when running memtest it shuts down quite fast never managing to run a complete cycle. There is 2 slots with 1 memory in each. So i took one out and ran the test again. Again the machine shut down randomly, I then switched the memory to the other slot to check if its the slot, same thing happen. Then i took the other memory and testet that on both slots again, total shutdown.
Is it normal to assume both sticks are bad?
Can there be a CPU problem or something else with this machine? Since the test fails on different stages each time.
I do not want to waste money on this pc, but if it is the memory I can buy new memory cheap.
What do people suggest i do? Garbage the whole pc or try get hold of new memory?
