Hi people,

I have G Skill F3-10666CL7-2GBPK and G Skill F3-10666CL9-2GBNQ RAM and I am buying an ASRock EP2C602-4L/D16 motherboard .....

Is the G Skill RAM compatible with the Asrock mobo ?

Solution

you bettr choose from their list : http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=EP2C602-4L/D16#Memory

as for your RAM sticks Just try them ... you will know ...

Keep in Mind this motherboard takes ECC RDIMM as well as non ECC RAM . so make up your mind about the type of RAM you want to use.

Yeah I know the asrock list , but I also ran into website that sell RAM that are said to be compatible with the Asrock mobo and they are not in the list.... So I was wondering if mine could be compatible....

Anyway I'll give it a try as soon as the mobo and the 2 xeon e5 2670 arrive in my mailbox.... which should be soon :)

Asrock does not test all the memory in the market , but some test themselves , like Crucial , Kingston , and they have a database of compatible products .. you can check from their site by selecting the Motherboard.

But if you already have the RAM , Just try them ..

Enjoy your Monster System :)

The QVL list for older boards is no longer updated , and on recent boards they are never up to date or complete , I never use the QVL , JUST GO BY YOUR SPECS.

Matching set of 4 will run quicker in QUAD Channel.

The QVL lists on the Asrock site are tested by Asrock for compatibility , but with so many releases it's never complete , not even close.
