So lets say money is not an issue, which card is recommended? I know that the 1060 should beat the 980ti on paper but in most benchmarks i have seen the 980ti outperforms the 1060. As i can now buy them for similar prices which one would you say is the best, by that i mean higher frames in games etc.
Thanks :)

Not sure where you got that information. A GTX1060 is about the same as a GTX980. A GTX980Ti is a larger GPU with 22 SM units compared to the 980s 16.

If you can get a 980Ti for the price of a 1060, it is the better buy. But if you want 980ti performance, then a GTX1070 is about right. The 1080 is quite a bit faster then a 980Ti, but that is reflected in their current market prices.

The 1070 is closer to the 980Ti, the 1060 is a lower class. However Pascal (10xx) series are supposed to support DX12 much better than Maxwwll (9xx) series. I have not seen a comparison between these 2 in DX12 but that's because few games use it at the moment but over the next couple of years that's going to change.
