i want to update a computer from i3 cpu to an i7-3770 and also add some memory. should i look for any issues to run into?

Solution
You must either have the wrong CPU or wrong motherboard model.

The DH55TC is a socket 1156 CPU, but the 2xxx and 3xxx Core i_ CPUs are socket 1155.

If you have the DH55TC then you can only upgrade to a 1st gen cpu, the best you can get is a i7-870

Now this is still a good bit cheaper then doing a full upgrade (motherboard/cpu/ram) but you will have to think about if you would rather have the i7 now, or save up $300 to get a new 6th gen i5 + mobo+8gb ram.

I3-2500 With an Intel DH55TC motherboard. I want to swap this i3 with an i7-3770. they have the same socket connector (1156) and the motherboard supports it, but do I have read a few things about bios changes? i'm just looking for what to expect
