Background:
Okay, so I currently have an AMD Radeon HD 7970. It works great. However, I got a new monitor today. The Asus VG248QE, which is awesome. Only $250 for 2560x1080, 24", ergonomic, 144 Hz, 1ms?!?!? You bet I got that.

Problem:
The new monitor had Nvidia 3D Vision or whatever. My graphics card will not support that being AMD HD3D or whatever (which I understand is pretty useless cause no games support it).

Main Question:
I need an Nvidia GeForce GTX. They are good graphics cards and all seem compatible with the 3D. What do you all suggest? I'm not trying to break the bank here. If I could sell off my AMD Radeon HD 7970, I could throw down some extra money to get an Nvidia and maybe even upgrade the graphics card. What are some good choices for my needs? Gaming graphics card of course.

Other Questions:
Is 3D worth it? I mainly just play Rocket league, Overwatch, and CSGO (id never use 3D for CS ha), which seem like they'd be good for it. Is it worth all this hassle and money? I realize I need to buy like $100 emitter and glasses as well.

Can my current graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 7970) run everything else on this monitor? Such as 144 Hz, 2560x1080, 1ms refresh, and all that good stuff? Or do I need to return the monitor/get a new card just to make it worth it?
