Hard Drive not being recognized by PC when both are connected to SATA / IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter?

I own this adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16812232002 and this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136075 hard drive. I have the adapter set up properly and all the plugs are in the proper ports. When I go to devices and drives, I don't see the hard drive. I can hear the fan inside of the hard drive running, however. Help please?

    Hey there, @imt0ogoodforyou!

Well, this sounds unfortunate! Since you have made sure that everything is connected properly with the SATA-to-USB adapter, you might want to try using a different one or plugging the HDD internally via SATA to see how it will get recognized then. Another thing that you might want to try is connecting the HDD externally using the adapter to another computer and see how it will get recognized there. Make sure you check both Device Manager and Disk Management in Windows to see if the WD Blue will get detected.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting!
