I got the MSI H170 Gaming Pro MOBO and I just got everything to turn on, all the connectors seem to be in place, the power button on the case turns the entire thing on, the video output from my GPU shows the BIOS stuff. But one thing that is worrying me is that if I do not press any button the keyboard, it says "Preparing Automatic Repair". Could this be due to my HDD being an old one from my other cpu? I'm pretty sure I reformatted it, maybe not? Or is the automatic repair caused by the MOBO being faulty?

Solution
You did not reformat your HDD. Your MB is alright.

Ideal windows installing procedure:
Download the Media Creation Tool from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/ and make a bootable USB wiht it.

Get the latest drivers from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-Driver?product=55005
File: f6flpy-x64.zip. Unzip it to a folder on a USB drive(it can be teh one with windows on it).

Go into the BIOS and disable "CSM" and enable "Secure boot" in the Boot section.

Start the install and when it asks where to install hit "have disk" and point it to the folder you put the above files in.

Then hit SHIFT+F10 and:
diskpart
list disk
select disk x(where x is the drive in case)
clean
convert gpt
exit
exit

Hit refresh, select the clean drive, and the "new". windows will create several partition and auto-select teh correct one to install to(you can alse set teh size of teh partition after hitting "new", but you don;t need to if you are using teh whole drive)
