optical drive in a hdd bay?

No. Hdd bays are for 3.5" and 2.5" drives, optical drives are 5.25". Plus there is no opening in the front of the case for the optical drive. If you want an internal optical drive you'll need a different case, if you really want a h440 and an optical drive it will need to be external.
