I have recently built a new pc and managed to get it boot up and everything perfectly fine using a wireless network adapter usb. However the usb is incredibly, INCREDIBLY slow averaging between 0.15 - 4 mbps for whatever reason. So I decided to connect my pc to my router using an ethernet cable but was soon greeted with a disappointing "X". I cannot for whatever reason connect my pc to the router through an ethernet cable, be this because I dont have the propper drivers or I am missing something, I honestly dont know as i am somewhat new to all of this. Can anyone please help?

My pc specs are;
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 4790K
Ram: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3
Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce gtx1070
SSD: 232GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO

Solution
i managed to fix it, the problem was with my connection manager. It was not updated, and as soon as I did update it it started working for whatever reason.
