Bought new pc and most games lag

Hi I just bought a brand new PC, hand picked parts, built it myself.
Everything went smooth, PC started, downloaded some programs and games etc.
When I tried 'The Forest' on max graphics I have no lag, neither on Overwatch, but for example on H1Z1 and Fallout 4 I start getting heavy fps lag, down to around 10-30.
Don't know what's causing this.

MSI GeForce GTX 970 4G
AMD FX-9590 8Core

Corsair 16GB (2kit) DDR3 1600MHz

Are you monitoring your temps while in game ? I know that FX 9590 gets hot and in my experience AMD loses a lot of performance if you cant keep there chips cool . I like using MSI afterburner. THis gives a very detailed view of your PC while you are in game.

i had a similar problem with my MSI 970 gaming and 1090 T video lag on every game i had to adjust my voltage up and i turned off CPU protection and cool and quiet that fixed my problems no more video lag.
