Hi guys,
I have been doing a bit of research into using one of the Samsung Pro M.2 SSDs and have been getting mixed answers as to what works and what doesn't work.
Basically, I want to upgrade my system and have chosen the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard, the Intel Core i7 6700K CPU, the Asus STRIX GTX1080 Graphics Card, and would like to use Samsung 950 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD.
So my first question would be, using this hardware will I be able to get the full speed of the SSD, and if not what would the fastest be and why?
The second question would be, I have read reports on Graphics Card performance being compromised due to the number of PCIe lanes being used for the card and the SSD, so would using this setup impact the graphics card side of things, and if so how and why?
I know similar posts are around but I can't find any definitive answers within them, so if someone could give me some clear insight into this I would be very much grateful. I don't want to go out and spend some cash then realising it was pretty much a waste.
Thanks!
